Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
-
Psalm 98:4 (KJV)
The Praise Team leads music worship at the 8:30 service. They are committed to practice and dedicated to offering praise to Jesus through a creative, musical worship experience. They serve in many ways to work toward inspiring worship: through vocals, instruments, exploring different types of percussion, sound board ministry, and the power-point ministry. They also often involve themselves creatively in other areas of worship such as artistic altar/worship centers and drama. The Praise Team works with our pastor and worship chair to create and enhance a complete picture of the message and Word that is being shared on a weekly basis through the creative process of music, sound, and visuals.

In the Bible, the 100th Psalm says to make a joyful noise. Our Ivey Choir strives to worship Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, by singing to His glory. Perfection is not our goal. All levels of musical ability are welcome as we work to become familiar with a wide range of vocal music, and no auditions are required. All ages and vocal parts are welcome. Our youngest member is in middle school, and the oldest is a well-kept secret. The only requirement is that one loves to sing to God's glory. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm until about 8:30 pm. Each rehearsal closes with an opportunity to share joys and support concerns through prayer. Weekly, the choir leads the congregation in singing hymns at the 11:00 am Sunday worship service. Opening with an introit, singing a choral special and ending with a benediction response our choir gives their time and talent as an offering to our Lord and Savior. On the second Sunday of each month, the congregation is invited to join the choir as we sing an easy arrangement of a familiar hymn. Cantatas are presented at either Christmas or Easter, annually. Solos, duets, trios, as well as narration within the seasonal specials are provided by individuals who attend Ivey. During the summer, special music from choir members or outside ensembles is scheduled for July and August while the choir takes a well-deserved break. Sitting in the congregation to worship gives people who love to sing a chance to refresh and renew their spirit. Everyone is invited to come join this enthusiastic, compassionate part of the Ivey Church family.

Ring the bells, ring the bells, let the whole world know, Christ was born in Bethlehem many years ago.
An intergenerational group of fun-loving bell-ringers make up the handbell ensemble at Ivey. On Monday evenings at 6:30 pm, we meet in the sanctuary to
"
play around
"
. Promptly at 7:30 pm we polish the bells, pack them up, and head home by 7:45 pm. Our goal is to play during both Sunday morning worship services once a month. Coordinating 8-10 individual's schedules is sometimes daunting, so our goal is not always possible, but handbell selections are always welcome and appreciated by the congregation. Listeners find the joint effort amazing and enjoyable. Individually, it seems that a few wrist snaps are insignificant, but when we play as a group, heavenly music is the result. It is often said that the only requirement to joining the group is the ability to count to four (4) and the willingness to attend weekly rehearsals. Three octaves of handbells were given as a memorial gift in 1992 as a result of the coordination of Robert Ivey. Last year, after retiring as music director of a large church in a neighboring state, he graciously returned to provide an inspiring weekend workshop for our group. When we 'graduated' from that seminar, we received black performing gloves, so now we are ready for big things. Experienced or not, all are invited to join the magic of bell-rining.
